Canlis Glass

At our most recent Wedding Network USA meeting, we got to see a hidden gem of a event space. Our meeting was hosted at Canlis Glass, located across from The Boat Street Kitchen and Cafe. (Boat Street is also a great place to host a rehearsal dinner). The space comfortably sat 65 people for dining and mingling with a bar and service. The space has 2 rooms; 1 adorned with beautiful glass sculptures along its walls, the other a space to walk in and see the artist himself creating the masterful pieces. The artist is Jean-Pierre Canlis, and he can be on hand demonstrating his art at your event to add to the unique ambiance of the room.

our next event at Canlis Glass..you won't be disappointed!

John and Kristen Yuhan

What an eventful December! Holiday parties, Christmas with family, and a special wedding event to conclude the festivities of the month. I had the honor and privilege to work with John and Kristen for their wedding weekend. You know how it is; weather.com is checked everyday..everyhour..every minute leading up to the day you want to be outside to take photography. Amidst forecasts of rain, snow and the other Seattle unpredictabilities, the sun came out the morning of December 27 which was a sweet symbol of how joyous the day was going to be.
Kristen looked radiant. Skincare and Make-up artist Gunna Covert and Hair Stylist Tara Bowden were on hand for her & the entire bridal party as they got "beautified" at Hotel Deca. Kristen was whisked away to meet her new husband for the first time in a white dress, such a special moment. C Charles Bowden Photography captured every moment so perfectly. The photos came out great and showcase his artistic eye for unique shots the entire day. It's always a pleasure to work with him. (to see more of John & Kristen's photos see a slideshow featured on his website)
The Lake Union Cafe hosted the ceremony and reception. I love this place. Victoria and Dann are great to work with and the space is incredible. Adorned with its exquisite holiday decor, there was little decorating that was required for the wedding..which is always a cost saver. It allowed Kristen's personality to focus on other ways to put her touch on the wedding. Guests enjoyed a signature hot cocoa bar, wrote congratulations on ornament cards which hung from a Christmas tree, and each received a special guest favor. Kristen and John have amazing hearts, as seen from their guest favor. The decision was made to take the budgeted money for favors and donate it to an organization called Vision Nationals, helping orphaned children. I can't think of a better gift for a guest than knowing that children are blessed by the loving act of a newly married couple!
The staff at Lake Union Cafe served an amazing dinner buffet, and their service was superb..as always. After the toasts, guests enjoyed cake thanks to Mike's Amazing Cakes.
Under a shower of sparkle and glitter, John and Kristen said good-bye to their guests. They retired into a shiny black town car, courtesy of British Motor Coach, and drove off into the night ending the day they had anticipated for so long.

Congratulations John and Kristen!! ...I hope it was everything you Anticipated...

Georgetown Ballroom Openhouse

Last Sunday I stopped in at the Georgetown Ballroom for an open house hosted by Luxe Productions. There were several different catering options, photographers, and event ideas. Georgetown Ballroom is an amazing venue with such unique design and style. The exposed brick walls and brightly colors Chinese lanterns add to the uncommon, hip flavor the venue offers. It boasts a large layout with 2 rooms, perfect for hosting your ceremony and reception.
Check out the post at Luxe! Productions to get a small taste of what kind of a party it was!
